9.51 - Say: Never will we be struck except by what Allah has decreed for us; He is our Protector; and upon Allah let the believers rely. 9.52 - Say: Do you wait for us but one of two best things? And we wait for you that Allah will strike you with torture from Himself or by our hands. So wait; indeed, we are with you waiting. 9.53 - Say: Spend willingly or unwillingly, it will not be accepted from you; indeed, you have been disobedient people. 9.54 - And what prevents their spending from being accepted from them except that they have disbelieved in Allah and in His messenger and they do not come to prayer except while they are lazy, and they do not spend except while they are unwilling. 9.55 - So let not their wealth and their children please you; Allah only wants to castigate them through them in the life of this world and that their souls will depart while they are unbelievers. 9.56 - And they swear by Allah that they are from among you while they are not from among you, but they are a people who are coward. 9.57 - If they could find a refuge or caves or a place to enter, they would have turned to it while rushing. 9.58 - And among them are those who slander you concerning alms; but if they are given from it, they would be pleased, and if they are not given from it, at once they are upset. 9.59 - And if they were pleased with what Allah and His messenger gave them and said: Sufficient for us is Allah; Allah will give us out of His grace, and His messenger; indeed, we are toward Allah desirous. 9.60 - The alms are only for the poor and the needy and those administering it and those whose hearts are reconciled and for the captives and those in debit and for the way of Allah and (for) the traveller; an obligation from Allah. And Allah is Knowing, Wise.
