Post subject: Rabbi Wants to 'Edit' Jewish, Muslim and Christian Sacred Sc Reply with quote

I'm watching the program now, the bit on the Rabbi's just over, seriously, why did this guy become a Rabbi in the first place?

Sacred texts
This week the British Library opened an exhibition called "Sacred: Discover What We Share". It presents some of the earliest surviving and most important texts from the Jewish, Christian and Muslim faiths. It boasts rare examples from the library's collections, which are considered to be one of the greatest in the world, alongside treasures on loan from other institutions. These include three Qur'ans from Morocco's Royal Library in Marrakech, and other loans from its national collections.

The exhibition has sparked interfaith campaigner Rabbi Jonathan Romain to field a controversial and radical idea. He thinks, in a bid to promote interfaith harmony, each religion should remove or down grade verses which cause offence to other faiths or individuals. Heaven and Earth sent Rabbi Romain to the exhibition so that he could pitch his controversial idea to church leaders who have mixed opinions on the proposal. He talked with Imam Ajmal Masroor, Alexander Goldberg from the Board of Deputies of British Jews and Dr Justin Thacker who is head of Theology at the Evangelical Alliance.

Needless to say that his proposal fell to bits in front of the religious leaders, I think the Rabbi needs to do some serious thinking to re-evaluate his position.

The guy embarrassed himself on national television, talk about a secular religious leader! What a phony.

Makes you wonder how many times such a proposal has happened in the past and how many times it was actually carried through. Just goes to show, the signs of what Ahl Al-Kitab have done in the past are here for us to see today.
